Wake up! Make yourselves stronger before what you have left dies 
completely. I have found that what you are doing is less than what 
my God wants. I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I 
wish that you were hot or cold! But because you are lukewarm-neither 
hot, nor cold-I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. I correct 
and punish those whom I love. So be eager to do right, and change 
your hearts and lives.

But I have this against you: You have left the love you had in 
the beginning. So remember where you were before you fell. Change 
your hearts and do what you did at first. If you do not change, I 
will come to you and will take away your lamp stand from its place. 
Every person who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says 
to the churches. To those who win the victory I will give the right 
to eat the fruit from the tree of life, which is in the garden 
of God.

Come back to the LORD and say these words to him: "Take away all 
our sin and kindly receive us, and we will keep the promises we 
made to you." The LORD says, "I will forgive them for leaving me 
and will love them freely, because I am not angry with them 
anymore." A wise person will know these things, and an understanding 
person will take them to heart. The LORD'S ways are right. Good 
people live by following them, but those who turn against God die 
because of them.

Don't add to these commands, and don't leave anything out, but obey 
the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. Obey these laws 
carefully, in order to show the other nations that you have wisdom 
and understanding. When they hear about these laws, they will say, 
"This great nation Israel is wise and understanding." But be careful! 
Watch out and don't forget the things you have seen. Don't forget 
them as long as you live, but teach them to your children and 
grandchildren.

But if we confess our sins, he will forgive or sins, because we 
can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the 
wrongs we have done. If we say we have not sinned, we make God a

you are so slow to understand. By now you should be teachers, but 
you need someone to teach you again the first lessons of God's 
message. You still need the teaching that is like milk. You are 
not ready for solid food.

Be careful that no one fails to receive God's grace and begins to 
cause trouble among you. A person like that can ruin many of you.

They were made free from the evil in the world by knowing our Lord 
and Savior Jesus Christ. But if they return to evil things and those 
things control them, then it is worse for them than it was before. 
Yes, it would be better for them to have never known the right way 
than to know it and to turn away from the holy teaching that we given 
to them.

This is what the LORD says: "Stand where the roads cross and look. 
Ask where the old way is, where the good way is, and walk on it. 
If you do, you will find rest for yourselves. But they have said, 
"We will not walk on the good way."

Since the time of your ancestors, you have disobeyed my rules and 
have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says 
the LORD All-- powerful. "But you ask, 'How can we return?"
