After the betrothal, the couple now join habds. Prayers are 
	then offered that recal Old Testament manifestations of God's 
	blessings and saving acts to His people. These prayers also 
	appropriately ask for God's continued blessing and mercy on 
	the couple being married. Their habds are hoined throughtout 
	the sercice to symbolize the oneness of the couple. "Unite 
	them in one  ind, wed them into one flesh."
