Bishops, priest and deacons of the church receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands to manifest the presence and action of Christ to the faithful and all mankind. An ordination to Holy Orders always occurs during the Divine Lituragy. The ordination service for priest begins after the Great Entrance. The candidate (one to be ordained) is led by a priest(s) from the middle of the church to the area before the holy doors. The sponsor priests lay one hand upon the candidate's neck, bow his as low as possible, saying: "Command. Command. Most Reverend Master." (The command is a request, or the seeking of permission, for this candidate to be ordained.) After being blessed by the bishop, the candidate and his sponsors walk around the Holy Altar three times. The candidate kisses the four corners of the altar. The same three hymns sung during the procession of the sacraments of the marriage are sung at this point during the ordination service. One hymn celebrates the incarnation of Christ and praises the participation of the Mother of God in that process. In another hymn, the victoriously crowned martyrs are asked to pray for our salvation, that the couple and all of us may live a life worthy to be crowned in Heaven. Another hymn glorifies Christ, who is our boast and our joy. The laying on of hands follows this procession. The bishop[s say, invoking the Holy Spirit, "The grace divine, which always heals that which is infirm and completes that which is wanting, elevates through the laying on the hands,,,"
