Jesus Chooses His Disciples
(Luke 5:1-11, Matt.9:9-10, John 1:44-51)
After his Baptism, Jesus started his great
Mission which was to save the world from
Sin. But he needed helpers. So he chose his
Twelve disciples.
The first to be chosen were Andrew and
his bother Peter; then two other brothers,
James and John. All four were fishermen at
The Sea of Galilee.
Knowing that they were sincere and good-
Hearted, Jesus called them to follow him
Saying, "From now on you will be fishers of
Men."
Then he called Philip and his friend
Nathaniel; Matthew a, James, the son of Al-
Phaeus, Thomas, Thaddeus, Simon and Judas
Iscariot.
They all were simple and unlearned men
But full of faith, goodness and sincerity.
They were always with Jesus to help him
And to be prepared to spread his word later
Throughout the world.

I will let the sun of life shine on me
We can become so consumed with trying to make it that we never
do. Unfortunately, before we know it, we are seated by age,
hardened by experiences, having never realized the full value
of life. We want so much. We try to do so much, it seems as
if nothing ever gets done. The ancient people knew that quality
not quantity makes life precious. It is our individual
responsibility to set the standards for quality in our lives.
Do we have peace in our lives? Are we living up to the
standards we set for ourselves? Have we set standards? Are
we committed to following our heart's desire? Are we making
our dreams come true? We must decide for ourselves what we
want for ourselves while the sunshine of youth is upon us.
It is quality, not quantity, that brings wisdom with age.
Where you will sit when you are old shows where you
stood in youth
