The Trial Of Jesus
(Matt. 26:57-27; 26 Mark 14:53-15:15;
Luke 22: 54-23: 25 John 18:12-19:16)
Jesus was taken to stand trial before the
Jewish Supreme Council at the home of
Caiaphas, the high Priest in authority. The
Council members had already decided to put
Jesus to death and sought to find false wit-
Messes against him. Finally, upon the pro-
Posal of Caiaphas they condemned him to
Death.
Now, Jesus was left to the mercy of the
Soldiers and servants. They spit on him,
Struck him on the face and tormented him
All night. At dawn, they brought him bound
Before Pilate, the Roman Governor, for they
Had to get his approval of their decision.
Pilate received him with sympathy and
Tried to make them change their mnds. But
The high priests warned, "We have tried
Him and found him guilty of death, for he
Calls himself a King. We have no King but
Caesar. If you free him, you are not Caesar's
Friend".
Crucify him! Crucify him!", the mob
Cried hysterically.
Pilate, frightened by the insinuations of
The high priest, sadly delivered Jesus to
The crowd to crucify him.

I take time for me, to do for me the same things I do
for others
Are you one of those people who is always there when
somebody needs you? You know just what to say, exactly what
to do to turn the worst situation into a conquerable
challenge. Everybody calls on you. Everybody needs you.
You are, after all, strong enough, smart enough, tough
enough to make it through anything and everything. Well,
who do the strong go to? Who do the strong lean on? Where
do the strong go when they are not feeling very strong? When
you set yourself up to be an anchor for everybody else, you
jump the ship on yourself! The need to be needed, the
illusion that without us things would not get done, is
actually the way we escape ourselves. The strong have needs.
The strong have weaknesses! Sometimes those needs are so
deep and painful that, rather than face them, the strong run
away. When the strong take the weight of the world on their
shoulders, they eventually break down. The question is, who
will be there for the strong?
Sometimes the strong die, too!
