The Ascension Of Jesus

(Matt. 28:16-20; Mark 16: 14-20; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:1-12) After the resurrection, the risen Christ Appeared many times before his disciples And friends. He spoke with them, ate with Them and let them witness the prints of the Nails in his hands and the wound on his Side. He wanted to hearten and strengthen Them and to give them assurance the he Was the Son of God. On the fortieth day, he Appeared once again to and together They walked on Mount of Olives, near Bethany. There, he gave instructions About their mission, promised them that he Would always be with them and commanded Them not to depart from Jerusalem until They received the Holy Spirit. Then he raised His hands and blessed them At that moment, He started leaving the ground and ascended Into the clouds. The disciples remained In ecstacy with their eyes following the Ascending Lord. Suddenly, two angels in White appeared to them and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into Heaven? This same Jesus who is taken up From you into heaven, shall so come in like Manner as you have seen him go into Heaven". Full of joy, the disciples retuned To Jerusalem and there they waited with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and other faith- ful "in prayer and supplication".

I would sit here, but I have something to do

I was thinking about it but…I was going to but…I want
to but…I wish I could but…These are the excuses we give
for sitting on our butts. We tell ourselves we are
waiting for something to happen. We tell ourselves
something is missing. We tell other people we will do
it, whatever it may be, but we never do. If you think
what you need is not there, find it. If you cannot find
it, make it. If you cannot make it, find someone who can.
If you do not have the money to pay them to make it,
get it done on credit. If you have no one to borrow from,
ask someone else to borrow it for you. If you do not
have credit, get some. If you cannot get credit, go out
and do something that someone will pay you for so you
can pay for what you need. There are no "buts" so big
they cannot be moved. Once you move the "butt,"
everything else will follow.

There are three kinds of people in the world: those
who make things happen, those who watch things happen,
those who wonder what happened
