The Paralytic ot Capernaum
(Mark 2:1-12)
One day, Jesus was preaching in a house
At Capernaum. A great crowd filled and
Overflowed the house. At this time, four
Men appeared carrying a paralytic but the
Crowd pressed so much towards Jesus that
They could not get the sick man close to him.
Desperate but full of faith, they removed
Part of the roof above Jesus and lowered
The stretcher on which the paralytic lay. The
Great Healer, recognizing the faith which
Inspired such a deed, told the paralytic that
His sins were forgiven.
Now, some of the Jewish scribes present
Considered this blasphemous, for only God
Can forgive sins. Christ immediately knew
Their thoughts; and in order to prove his
Power to forgive sins, he said to the par-
Alyzed man, "Raise, take up your pallet and
Go home." At once, the man rose before them
All, took up his stretcher, and left the house.
The people were amazed and glorified God,
Saying, "We never saw anything like this."

I live, move and have by being in a higher authority
When there is trouble or trauma, we have a tendency to
become real spiritual. We pray, we say we believe and
usually we collect the miracle we expect. Then we go back
to being our normal human self, doing the same human
things that got us into trouble in the first place. What
we don't understand is that our issues in life are
determined by our consciousness about life. It is only
in our moments of despair that we surrender our humanness.
We go to that higher force, higher consciousness that is
within us al the time. It is quite possible for us to live
from that higher place at all times. We would save
ourselves a great deal of grief if we lived from the
truth that we, as humans, can't do it. Yet through our
higher consciousness we are the conduit. The higher
consciousness moves us through racism, sexism, disease,
poverty, fear and confusion. So why mot make that a
permanent residence.
Spiritual growth results from absorbing and digesting
truth and putting it to practice in daily life
