A Man Born Blind Gains His Sight

(John 9:1-41) One Sabbath day, as Jesus was passing By the temple, he was a beggar who had Been blind from birth. Our Lord, the light Of the world, taking pity on him, spat on The ground, anointed the man's eyes with The moist clay, and then ordered him to Was his eyes in the nearby pool of Siloam. The man obeyed and gained his sight. As soon as the Pharisees learned that it Was Christ who had performed this miracle, They questioned the beggar and his parents Again and again trying to prove that he Wasn't the blind one. When they did not suc- Ceed, they tried to persuade the beggar to Renounce Jesus as a sinner, because he had Broken the rule of the Sabbath. But the beg- Gar upheld his faith and said, "God hears Not sinners; only people who are pious and Do God's will are those whom he hears". If This man were not from God, he could not Open the eyes of a man born blind." The Pharisees enraged by these inspired Words of the beggar cast him out of the Synagogue. After that, he met Jesus and was Told that he was his healer. Now, full of Gratitude the beggar fell to his knees and Worshipped Jesus as the son of God.
