The Demoniac Of The Gadarenes

(Mark 5:1-17; Luke 8:26-39) One day, Jesus and his disciples visited The country of the Gadarenes. At the out- Skirts of the city, they were met by a Demoniac, a man possessed by evil. He lived In the mountains and in the tombs, his Clothes were torn to shreds and signs of Broken chains could be seen on his hands. When the demoniac saw Jesus, he ran to- Ward him cried out, "What have you to do with Me Jesus, son of the Most High God? I Beseech you, do not torment me, but permit Me to enter the near-by herd of swine." Jesus ordered him to tell his name. "My Name is Legion; for there are many of us" Was the answer. Then Jesus gave command, "Come out of the man", adding that they were permitted to enter the swine which were kept there against the law. The evil spirits obeyed and seized upon the herd of swine which they drove down the steep rocks into the lake where they drowned. The man was cured; he sat quietly at the Feet of his savior. But the whole affair had Been so terrifying that the people of the Country became alarmed at the presence of So powerful a prophet. They begged Jesus To depart from them, and he did, leaving the Cured man to proclaim his glory.

The spirit is the one and only active power in my life.

Whenever we need an answer it is there. No matter what the
situation, our higher self knows exactly what is best for us.
It is not a political, social or intellectual self; it is the
core of our being. No matter how long it's been since we
consciously communicated with it, the power within us remains
steady. Two o'clock on a Saturday morning, it's there. Winter,
summer, spring or fall, we've got the power. At the break of
day or nightfall, we are guided and protected. There is within
a source of light that does not keep a schedule, nine to five,
Monday to Friday. It works overtime all the time. It doesn't
matter we went to church last Sunday or if we haven't been
since whenever, if ever. The spirit within is there for us,
always. We just have to acknowledge it, praise it, thank it
and know everything is all right now.

It is always there.
