The Raising Of Lazarus
(John 11:1-45)
When Lazarus, a close friend of Jesus,
Became seriously ill, his sisters Martha and
Mary sent urgent word to Jesus. But when
Our Lord finally reached Bethany, their home
Village, Lazarus was already dead. As
Soon as the two sisters heard that Jesus was
Coming, they ran out to meet him, crying,
"Lord, if you had been here, our brother
would not have died." Jesus comforted them
saying, "I an the Resurrection and the Life;
he who believes in Me, through he die, yet
shall he live."
Mary and Martha brought Jesus to the
Tomb where Lazarus lay dead for four days.
The two sisters, as well as all the people
Who followed them, were weeping. Jesus was
Moved and he wept too. Then he ordered
The stone moved from the mouth of the tomb.
Now, after a warm prayer to his heavenly
Father, he cried in a loud voice, "Lazarus,
Come out".
And behold! At this very moment, Lazarus
Come forth, his hands and feet wrapped with
Cloth, according to the Jewish custom. "Un-
Bind him, and let him go" Jesus said to the
People around who witnessed in amazement
The great miracle.
