The Healing Of The High Priest's Servant
(Matthew 26:51-54; Mark 14:47-49; Luke 22:49-53; John 18:10-11)
Jesus had just arisen from his agonized
Prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, when
A great number of soldiers and servants of
The Pharisees, carrying lanterns, torches and
Weapons entered the garden.
Judas Iscariot, leading the fierce band,
Came near to Jesus and gave him a kiss,
The sign of betrayal, while the soldiers and
Servants laid hands on Jesus.
At this moment, the disciple Simon Peter
Drew his sword and cut off the right ear of
Malchus, the servant of the high priest.
Jesus admonished Peter, "Put your sword
Into its sheath; for all they that take the
Sword shall perish with the sword".
Then he turned to the servant, "touched
His ear and healed him." Didn't the Lord
Preach on his sermon on the mountain
"Love your enemies, do good to them that
hate you"!

Today I am obedient to the ways of God.
The time has come for people of color to admit the role they
play in their own condition. We have been disobedient to the
laws of nature, the traditions of the ancestors and the will
of God. We have allowed ourselves to remain in situations we
know are unproductive out of fear, which is a result of our
disobedience, violations of tradition and arrogance in the
face of the lows of God. We blamed others for the things we
do not do for ourselves. We have betrayed one another to
acquire personal riches. We have behaved irresponsibly toward
ourselves, have been unaccountable for ourselves, disrespectful
toward ourselves by being disobedient and abandoning the word
of God. What is Gods will? Put the Creator first in all that
we do. What is God's law? Do unto others as we would have them
do unto us. What is God's word? Love thy brother, and they
sister as you would love yourself. If we are to regain our
stature in the world as a proud and mighty people, we must be
obedient in following the traditions of the ancestors and we
must adhere to the will, laws and word of God.
You cannot fix what you will not face.
